The Moment After, directed by Matilda Montgomery, is a visual and emotional meditation on what lingers, on skin, in memory, in the soft space between climax and return. At Noén, we believe intimacy doesn’t end at the peak, it deepens in the aftermath. This short embodies the Afterplay State, a sacred pause where breath slows, bodies soften, and presence returns. Through sun-drenched imagery and poetic recollection, the film captures the sensuality of memory: the warmth of touch, the taste of morning, the way light plays across bare skin. It is not a story with a beginning and end, but a feeling that unfolds, an impressionistic reflection of what our Afterplay Oil was created to honor. The Moment After invites us to stay a little longer, to tend to the body and the bond, and to recognize that this quiet descent is not the end of intimacy, it’s where it lives.
The memory of our bodies live on in the folds of our sheets
We were tangled together there in the moments after
The sun came to kiss us in the morning I can taste it I run my tongue over my lips
The water glistened like it wanted to reveal something it was hiding
He touched my arm like rays of sun caressing my skin
Trembling, firm, smoothness
We closed our eyes to remember where we were
Softly coming down to reality from the sky
Gentle waves of light played a sweet melody
